Avison Young has established a U.S. Investment Sales platform, which will focus on assets in key U.S. markets across the multifamily, office, retail and development sectors, the global real estate advisory firm announced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To head up this effort, James Nelson will be expanding his role as leader of investment sales in the tri-state New York area to head of U.S. Investment Sales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As part of this strategic move, Avison Young has promoted two other team members into roles to help lead and support the firm\u2019s national investment sales platform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Erik Edeen will serve as senior director & principal of U.S. Investment Sales, involved in both internal and external efforts. He will work alongside Nelson on national business development, based on his 15 years of transaction experience. In addition, Edeen will be responsible for creating consistency of the necessary processes and tools, resourcing and reporting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Traci Bidinger has been promoted to director of marketing, Capital Markets, concentrating on Avison Young\u2019s marketing at both the client and asset levels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Avison Young USIS leadership team will operate within the firm\u2019s overall capital markets business, both in partnership and oversight with Marion Jones, principal & executive managing director of U.S. Capital Markets. Jones joined Avison Young earlier this year to lead its capital markets strategy and expand its capital markets footprint across the U.S.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a prepared statement, Avison Young remarked on the opportunity created by real estate market recovery and the importance of growing the company\u2019s capital markets footprint.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nelson told Commercial Property Executive<\/em> that even as Avison Young aims to expand its investment sales presence in the top U.S. markets through both existing and new clients, New York will remain a key focus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAs more opportunities in major markets present themselves, we will ensure they are accessible to interested buyers,\u201d he added. \u201cFor sellers, we will further expand our ability to market to buyers across the country and around the world.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
