For Thuy Turner, one of the best parts about what she does is that there is always something new. Healthcare Property Advisors, the company that she co-founded in 2014, for example, recently launched HPA Exchange.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cEven with more than two decades of experience in commercial real estate, and primarily the health-care asset class, I still get to enter a new facet of the industry by entering alternative investments,\u201d said Turner, who is co-president & COO of Healthcare Property Advisors and COO of HPA Exchange LLC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Brea, Calif.-based HPA owns and operates medical office buildings and other health-care properties. HPA\u2019s executive team has acquired or advised on more than $1 billion in health-care property investments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

HPA Exchange LLC is a real estate investment sponsor that provides accredited investors with private placement opportunities anchored by medical properties, including Section 1031 exchange offerings. Turner leads HPA Exchange\u2019s asset and property management initiatives and overall operations. Robert Lee serves as co-president & chief investment officer of HPA Exchange.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Turner, who holds a bachelor\u2019s degree from the University of California, Irvine, and an MBA from California State University, Fullerton, has an extensive commercial real estate background that includes tenures at Arden Realty, Equity Office and Schnitzer Northwest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The drive to succeed<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

While the industry has come a long way, Turner notes CRE is still a male-dominated world, and the motivation to succeed is fierce. \u201cI love always striving to show that we really can do this as females,\u201d she shared.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Teamwork is also important. \u201cYour supportive circle yields significant success in commercial real estate and in life.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finding the right mix of a strong mentor and support network early was challenging for Turner, but the process shaped who she is now as an industry leader. In addition to finding a great mentor, Turner\u2019s advice for other women who want to succeed in top roles in the industry is simple: Love what you do. \u201cHard work, perseverance and a good, light attitude will get you plenty far in life. If you love what you do, then all the successes and everything will catch up to you. Have fun with it\u2014truly.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
