A year prior, the sector recorded 56.6 million square feet coming online across 387 properties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Construction starts also edged lower in 2025. The sector saw 20.4 million square feet across 230 projects\u2014a 3.5 percent decline from the 21.2 million square feet that broke ground across 229 developments in 2024. The sector is reshaped by multiple market conditions, following years of sharp rises in vacancies and shifting tenant demand. Construction activity will likely continue to contract.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The nation\u2019s top 10 markets for completions recorded a combined nearly 15 million square feet of new space added\u2014a slower performance when compared to the 22 million square feet delivered by the same sample size a year prior.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The list below had 14.9 million square feet of completed office space, accounting for 35.4 percent of the total delivered space across the U.S. in 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
