Amenities include resort-style pools and spas, clubhouses with modern d\u00e9cor, a full-service onsite concierge, a screening room, conference rooms and a fitness facility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The JLL Capital Markets team that arranged the acquisition was led by Retail Group Co-Leader and Senior Managing Director Barry Brown. Brown, along with Director Erin Lazarus; Senior Managing Directors Colby Mueck, Ryan West and Jeff Hollinden; and Managing Director Dustin Selzer, advised on the transaction.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-one-extreme-to-another\">One extreme to another<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Tilman Fertitta is perhaps best known as the owner of the NBA\u2019s Houston Rockets and of Fertitta Entertainment, which in turns owns (through Landry\u2019s Inc.) restaurant chains Bubba Gump Shrimp Co., Rainforest Cafe, McCormick &amp; Schmick\u2019s and Morton\u2019s The Steakhouse, as well as Golden Nugget Hotel &amp; Casinos properties in several states.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In Houston, Fertitta owns The Post Oak Hotel at Uptown and its adjacent upscale restaurants, as well as Post Oak Motor Cars, a Bentley\/Rolls-Royce\/Bugatti dealership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Last May, at the other end of the retail spectrum from Cartier and Rolex, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.commercialsearch.com\/news\/highland-capital-buys-houston-retail-center\/\">Highland Capital acquired Steeplechase Center<\/a>, a workaday 195,575-square-foot retail property in Houston, for $18 million. The center\u2019s tenants include Goodwill, Melrose, Citi Trends, Uptown Beauty, Dollar Tree, dd\u2019s Discounts and 99 Cents Only.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ample deliveries of new space notwithstanding, Houston\u2019s retail real estate market currently enjoys an average occupancy hovering near 95 percent, a record high level, according to a fourth-quarter report from <strong>CBRE<\/strong>. He started writing about CRE in 1988 for a group of Chicago-based publications and in 1989 became the editor of Midwest Real Estate News. After moving on from there in 1991, Baltic continued writing occasionally about real estate, for publications like the Chicago Sun-Times, National Real Estate Investor, Urban Land, Shopping Center World and Architect\u2019s Newspaper.
