DLC<\/strong> has acquired Brookside Center, a 168,655-square-foot, grocery-anchored shopping center in Bridgeport, Conn., for $46.5 million.\u00a0The previous owner, EDENS<\/strong>, had acquired the asset in 1998 for $26.2 million, according to CommercialEdge data.<\/p>\n

The purchased property marks DLC\u2019s eighth asset in Connecticut. The firm\u2019s portfolio in the Bridgeport New Haven market includes Newington Fair Shopping Center, Torrington Commons, Putnam Place Shopping Center and Prospect Shopping Plaza, the same data provider shows.<\/p>\n

Situated on 16 acres at 4531 N. Main St., Brookside Center came online in 1958. A Super Stop & Shop and Marshalls anchor the retail asset; Michaels and Starbucks are also on the roster.<\/p>\n

Tenants are within a mile of the Trumbull Park Mall and the Sacred Heart University. The Merritt Parkway, less than a mile from the site, connects the center to major junctions with accessibility to the larger Connecticut, New York and Northeastern areas.<\/p>\n

Earlier this year, DLC and Acadia Realty Trust obtained financing for the recapitalization of a 512,218-square-foot grocery-anchored shopping center in New York. The Shoppes at South Hills<\/a> features tenants including ShopRite, At Home and Hobby Lobby.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
