Skanska<\/strong>‘s 17xM project, an 11-story mixed-use development in Washington, D.C., has topped out.<\/p>\n

The 334,000-square-foot building is located at 1700 M St. NW in the city’s downtown area, near the Golden Triangle neighborhood. Situated approximately midway between Dupont Circle and the White House, the project has signed Gibson Dunn & Crutcher as its anchor tenant. The international law firm is slated to occupy 163,750 square feet of office space at 17xM under the terms of a 16-year lease<\/a> agreed in 2021.<\/p>\n

Unique certification<\/h2>\n

17xM has been designed to qualify for LEED Gold and Fitwel certifications, but the project will also hold the distinction of being the first WiredScore SmartScore-certified office building in North America.<\/p>\n

Amenities at the project will include conference facilities, event space, a rooftop deck and a private lower-level terrace, according to a statement issued by Skanska. The building is expected to be completed in 2024. Kohn Pedersen Fox<\/strong> and Arup<\/strong> designed the project. Consultants from both firms, as well as from Siemens<\/strong>, are advising Skanska on amenities and environmental considerations.<\/p>\n

Among the developer\u2019s several projects in the Washington, D.C., area are 3901 N Fairfax Drive, a $129 million mixed-use office project<\/a> in Arlington, Va., as well as OZMA, a 12-story mixed-use development with 275 luxury apartments in the city’s Northeast quadrant, and the Virginia Hospital Center’s Outpatient Pavilion in Arlington.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
