Electric truck manufacturer Orange EV<\/strong> will relocate its corporate headquarters and manufacturing operations to NorthPoint<\/strong> Development<\/strong>‘s Turner Logistics Center, currently underway in Kansas City, Kan.<\/p>\n

Construction on the 407,964-square-foot mixed-use industrial and office facility at 6700 Orville Ave. began in 2021. Orange expects to move by mid-2023, with plans to manufacture 1,800 terminal trucks per year from the new space.<\/p>\n

Upon completion, the facility, built on 37.46 acres, will feature 40-foot clear heights, as well as 50-foot by 52-foot column spacing, according to Commercial Edge information.<\/p>\n

Situated along the Kansas Turnpike, the facility is within 8 miles of downtown Kansas City, with quick access to numerous shipping nodes around the state. The move will significantly boost Orange\u2019s production capacity, and will also serve as a more convenient location for employees in Kansas City.<\/p>\n

Colliers Kansas City<\/strong> President Ed Elder represented Orange in the leasing efforts.<\/p>\n

NorthPoint remains an active developer and investor throughout the Midwest, having recently completed Gateway Tradeport IV<\/a>, a 1 million-square-foot facility in Pontoon Beach in St. Louis, Mo. According to CommercialEdge information, the firm had recently acquired three properties around Kansas City, Mo., totaling nearly 1.2 million square feet.<\/p>\n

Kansas City\u2019s Industrial upswings<\/h2>\n

Kansas City remains both a strong and stable Midwestern market for industrial construction and development, bolstered in part by its swaths of buildable land, cheaper energy prices and investment from tech companies. Data from a third quarter 2022<\/a> report from JLL<\/strong> shows that the city had 13.6 million square feet of space in its pipeline, with 6.2 million being absorbed year-to-date. The city\u2019s vacancy rate has fallen to 4.5 percent, with rents rising to $4.98 per square foot, the report showed.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
