Image courtesy of Colliers<\/p><\/div>\n<p><strong>Executive Personal Computers<\/strong> has acquired a 203,819-square-foot, former Walmart building in Columbia, S.C., which will be <a href=\"https:\/\/www.commercialsearch.com\/news\/key-considerations-for-adaptive-reuse-projects\/\">repurposed for warehousing<\/a> and product distribution use. <strong>Bunrootis LLC<\/strong> sold the asset with the assistance of\u00a0<strong>Colliers<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Lexington County records show the asset changed hands for $6.1 million. The transaction was a double escrow, as Bunrootis acquired the property from <strong>Walmart Realty<\/strong> on the same day, for $5.4 million.<\/p>\n<p>Completed in 2006, the former Walmart store is located on 25.4 acres at 1326 Bush River Road, in the Dutch Square neighborhood. The future warehouse is 6 miles from downtown Columbia, near the intersection of interstates 20 and 26.<\/p>\n<p>The Colliers team included Managing Director Chuck Salley, Vice Presidents Dave Mathews and Thomas Beard, alongside Senior Associate John Peebles.<\/p>\n<p>Salley stated in prepared remarks that the adaptive reuse of former retail stores is a trend influenced by consumer habits, in areas where customers tend to choose e-commerce instead of on-location shopping.
