Blackstone<\/strong> plans to hire 2,000 refugees across its global portfolio companies, including its real estate properties, by the end of 2025. The company is joining Tent<\/strong>, a non-profit network of major companies supporting refugees worldwide. Blackstone’s plan includes hiring 1,500 refugees in the U.S.<\/p>\n

Currently, the company\u2019s portfolio companies and real estate properties have already hired about 500 refugees from countries which include Afghanistan, Ukraine, El Salvador and Guatemala. Blackstone also joined the Welcome.US<\/strong> CEO Council, an effort to encourage private sector support for refugees from Afghanistan and Ukraine.<\/p>\n

Hiring and training resources<\/h2>\n

As part of its initiative, Blackstone will work with Tent and other refugee resettlement organizations. These partnerships will provide tools and resources to help hire, train and promote new employees.<\/p>\n

The company\u2019s commitments to refugees and veterans reflect broader initiatives at the firm. Career Pathway, Blackstone\u2019s signature program, aims to foster economic mobility and support diversity efforts by removing legacy barriers and increasing employment opportunities as well as career mobility for individuals from historically under-represented communities.<\/p>\n

Blackstone’s real estate business continues to make major moves. In April, the company entered an agreement to acquire PS Business Parks Inc. in a $7.6 billion deal<\/a>, increasing its commercial real estate holdings in the U.S. with a roughly 27 million-square-foot portfolio of industrial, business park, traditional office and multifamily properties.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
