Logistics Property Co<\/strong>. has planted its flag in Aurora, Ill., planning to start construction on two nearby industrial facilities. The company is planning to break ground on both 2800 W. Diehl Road and 4275 Ferry Road soon, with both logistics projects scheduled for delivery in early 2023.<\/p>\n

LPC tapped Pepper Construction<\/strong> as the general contractor for 4275 Ferry Road, while Cushman & Wakefield<\/strong>\u2019s Michael Magliano and David Friedland will be marketing the property. For 2800 W. Diehl Road, Meridian Design Build<\/strong> is handling the construction, while NAI Hiffman<\/strong>\u2019s Kelly Disser, Michael Freitag and Ben Ryan will be tasked with marketing.<\/p>\n

The larger of the two projects, 2800 W. Diehl Road, will be built on a 30.7-acre site located at the Eola Road Exit on Interstate 88. LPC is planning to build the 392,933-square-foot logistics facility with 36-foot clear heights, 56 docks, 403 auto parking spaces and 26 trailer parking spaces.<\/p>\n

The property will be located between Naperville and Aurora, which are Illinois\u2019 second- and third-largest cities, respectively. Freitag said in prepared remarks that 2800 W. Diehl Road will be located directly by the four-way interchange and will be an ideal location for any corporate headquarters.<\/p>\n

Located about a mile and a half away, 4275 Ferry Road will be built on a 17.6-acre site known as the Butterfield Distribution Center. According to LPC, the site is one of the last developable parcels adjacent to the I-88 and Route 59 interchange. Once completed, the 270,934-square-foot logistics facility will be part of a Class A business park whose tenants include Amazon, FedEx, Nippon and International Paper, among others.<\/p>\n

Growing its Illinois industrial footprint<\/h2>\n

With LPC\u2019s two latest projects, the company\u2019s presence in the Chicago metro area is now up to eight industrial properties. While the two projects in Aurora are close to each other, LPC\u2019s Illinois portfolio also includes properties in Bartlett, Carol Stream, Addison, Palatine, Country Club Hills and Chicago. Nearby, LPC also has a more than 1 million-square-foot logistics park that\u2019s under construction in Kenosha, Wis.<\/p>\n

Last year, LPC had built out its presence in the northeastern U.S. with a project in Pennsylvania and one in Delaware. In August, the company acquired a 67-acre site to build an 800,000-square-foot logistics park in Conewago, Pa<\/a>.
