Supply chain issues persist. Many commercial real estate investors are hedging their bets.<\/p>\n<p>But all is not lost. Last year proved to be a boon for the multifamily and industrial markets. And 2022 doesn\u2019t look totally bleak.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe will continue to see \u2026 a robust appetite for real estate as an investment,\u201d CBRE Global Chief Economist Richard Barkham told <em>CPE <\/em>Senior Editor Holly Dutton in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.commercialsearch.com\/news\/a-look-at-2022s-investment-landscape\/\">A Look at 2022\u2019s Investment Landscape<\/a>. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Take, for example, the Sun Belt. Investors were already looking to that area in the past year. And as people continue to move to parts of the country that have a lower cost of living, the Sun Belt looks especially promising. It even accounted for most of the top 10 markets in ULI\u2019s recent <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pwc.com\/us\/en\/industries\/asset-wealth-management\/real-estate\/emerging-trends-in-real-estate.html\">Emerging Trends in Real Estate<\/a> report.<\/p>\n<p>And don\u2019t forget about the economy!<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re still looking at relatively good economic growth fueled by continued consumer spending and recovery from lockdown in the pandemic,\u201d Barkham said. Additionally, according to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.naiop.org\/Research-and-Publications\/Sentiment-Index\">NAIOP survey<\/a>, inflation wasn\u2019t as big a concern to investors as it had been previously.<\/p>\n<p>We don\u2019t know what\u2019ll be next for us (what letter of the Greek alphabet are we on now for variants?), but at least there are always bright spots.
