To mark the occasion, AT&amp;T announced that its renewable energy acquisitions will surpass <a href=\"https:\/\/www.commercialsearch.com\/news\/att-nextera-energy-expand-wind-ppa-to-820mw\/\">1.5 gigawatts of clean energy<\/a> capacity, through new virtual power purchase agreements with Invenergy and Duke Energy Renewables.<\/p>\n<p>The purchases will support both wind and solar projects. The telecommunications company signed an agreement for 800 megawatts of sustainable energy with Chicago-based Invenergy. With Duke Energy, AT&amp;T has signed a 15-year, 160-megawatt VPPA for Frontier Windpower II.
