Ardagh Group, a supplier of sustainable packaging, has announced its glass manufacturing facility in Bridgeton, N.J., is now powered by solar energy. KDC Solar developed and will operate the 5.5-megawatt solar project.<\/p>\n

The net-metered solar facility is spread across 20 acres and consists of 15,930 photovoltaic modules supported by 1,283 racking ports. It is expected to produce approximately 7.5 kilowatt-hours of renewable electricity in the first year.<\/p>\n

Debt financing for the project was provided by Seminole Financial Services through a construction and a permanent loan. Development capital and project equity were arranged by GoldenSet Capital Partners in its role as sub-advisor to the North Sky Capital Alliance Fund II.<\/p>\n

The Bridgeton, N.J., facility was also awarded Energy Star plant certification for superior energy performance from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, becoming the only U.S. glass container manufacturer to earn this recognition.<\/p>\n

Ardagh Group\u2019s glass production facilities in Dunkirk, In., and Madera, Calif., have also received the Energy Star award. The three facilities perform within the top 25 percent nationwide for energy efficiency<\/a>. Additionally, all 13 of the company\u2019s manufacturing facilities in North America are ISO 14001 certified.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
