The extra space in the development, which will now total 250,000 square feet, will house new production lines and facilitate product distribution for the maker of popular treats including Welch\u2019s Fruit Snacks, Sun-Maid Chocolate Raisins and Original Gummi FunMix gummi candies.<\/p>\n<p>Located at 500 Pierce St., the existing brick and block building was completed in 1984 and spans 182,764 square feet, including 15,000 square feet of office space. The expansion of the facility in northern New Jersey accompanies a 15-year extension for PIM and is designed to address growing demand for the food maker\u2019s products. Chuck Fern of Cushman &amp; Wakefield and Bob Nathin of Sheldon Gross Realty handled the transaction on behalf of PIM, while David Nenner represented CenterPoint in-house.<\/p>\n<p>The new space will feature 40-foot clear heights, 20 auto parking stalls and six tailboard doors. The expansion effort marks CenterPoint\u2019s first vertical construction project in the state and adds to the 4.7 million square feet that the company already manages in New Jersey and New York.<\/p>\n<p>PIM is part of the Promotion In Motion family of companies, which claims to be the second-largest privately owned food industry employer in New Jersey. The candy manufacturing and marketing giant has production and distribution facilities elsewhere in Somerset, a community within New Jersey\u2019s Franklin Township.<\/p>\n<p>CenterPoint is boosting its presence in New Jersey.
