The owners of the facilities, father and son, took advantage of New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy\u2019s executed measure which establishes and modifies clean energy and energy efficiency programs, providing incentives for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.commercialsearch.com\/news\/njbpu-approves-community-solar-energy-pilot-program\/\">conversion to solar<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The Carys installed 1,566 monocrystalline high-efficiency solar panels on the roof of the 140,000-square-foot manufacturing plant. The system provides 639,000 kilowatt-hours of AC electricity which represents about 40 percent of the building\u2019s annual electricity usage.<\/p>\n<p>Vanguard Energy Partners handled the installation of the system. Estimates show that over the first year, the projected energy savings will be equivalent to the annual electricity usage of 78 households.<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;We use a lot of electricity,&#8221;<\/em>&nbsp;said Charles Cary, president of both companies, in a prepared statement. <em>&#8220;We have large machines that work two shifts. We wanted to reduce our impact on the environment and our local community, and of course, save money.
