25 W. 39th St.<\/p><\/div>\n

Thor Equities has added a new tenant at 25 W. 39th<\/sup> St. in Midtown Manhattan. The Wing, a coworking and community space designed for women, signed for 12,252 square feet on the building\u2019s entire 11th<\/sup> floor, planning to move in this fall. The new space will mark the firm\u2019s fourth New York City location and eighth nationwide.<\/p>\n

According to Yardi Matrix, the building comprises 208,000 square feet, including a 13,400-square-foot retail component. The space features barrel-vaulted terracotta ceilings, exposed steel columns and 12-foot ceiling heights. The Wing\u2019s new location will include workspace, conference rooms, private phone booths and a full-service caf\u00e9. Notable tenants include Spark Labs, Halston, Movado, Seven for all Mankind, VF Jeanswear, Thor Equities and The Squash Center, which signed a lease<\/a> to occupy 13,400 square feet last September.<\/p>\n

Building with history<\/h2>\n

Completed in 1907 with a $1.5 million gift from Andrew Carnegie, the property was known as the Engineering Societies\u2019 Building. It formerly included a 1,000-seat auditorium, one of the largest engineering libraries in the world and famous members such as Thomas Edison and Nikola Tesla. The property underwent conversion to office in 1961, after The Engineering Societies\u2019 departure.<\/p>\n

Avison Young\u2019s Arthur Mirante, John Ryan, Patrick Steffens and Dominic Perkovic represented the landlord in the transaction, alongside Adam Lavinsky of Thor Equities. Newmark Knight Frank\u2019s Jeffrey Roseman and John Klein of Accelerator Advisors acted on behalf of the tenant.<\/p>\n

\u201cSteps from Bryant Park, the building offers extraordinary character in Midtown Manhattan and provides the perfect setting for the company to continue their mission of building a community dedicated to the advancement of women,<\/em>\u201d Thor Equities Group Chairman Joseph Sitt said in a prepared statement.<\/p>\n
