The firm handled the overall system design, permitting and construction.<\/p>\n<p>The system at Westfield Topanga &amp; the Village has a capacity of more than 4 megawatts and nearly 15,000 panels. The solar project is projected to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by more than 4,900 metric tons in the first year. This is comparable to taking more than 1,000 cars off the road, or to the amount of greenhouse gases absorbed by nearly 5,800 acres of trees. The solar array marks the 20<sup>th<\/sup> commercial-scale parking deck or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.commercialsearch.com\/news\/solar-rooftop-system-atop-md-retail-asset-begins-operations\/\">canopy project<\/a> Safari Energy has completed, while several more are in development.<\/p>\n<p>Westfield Topanga &amp; The Village encompasses more than 360 stores, restaurants, gyms and entertainment venues.
