The commercial real estate services firm represented property owners Tishman Speyer and Cogswell Lee Development in the sale of the approximately 270,000-square-foot building to APF Properties.<\/p>\n<p>Also known as the Madison-Belmont Building, 183 Madison sits on a corner lot in the Midtown South submarket, home to many TAMI office users. The Warren Wetmore-designed Art Deco-style property <a href=\"https:\/\/www.commercialsearch.com\/news\/tishman-jv-buys-historic-midtown-south-building\/\">last changed hands in 2014<\/a> in a $185 million transaction, and today it\u2019s home to a multi-business tenant roster that includes fashion company Dreamwear, architecture firm Spector Group and furniture retailer Domus Design Center. 183 Madison also features 20,000 square feet of retail offerings spanning three floors.<\/p>\n<p>Spector was joined on the sale transaction by Darcy Stacom, head of CBRE\u2019s New York City Capital Markets Group.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Manhattan market magnetism<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Manhattan office assets remain a major draw for buyers. <em>\u201cIt\u2019s an extremely strong office investment sales market right now, with significant demand from a number of different capital sources,\u201d<\/em> Spector said.<\/p>\n<p>Recent trades include Blackstone&#8217;s sale of the 683,000-square-foot 5 Bryant Park, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.commercialsearch.com\/news\/blackstone-sells-nyc-office-tower-for-640m\/\">which fetched $640 million<\/a>, as well as Columbia Property Trust&#8217;s disposition of 222 E. 41st St., a 390,000-square-foot property <a href=\"https:\/\/www.commercialsearch.com\/news\/columbia-property-trust-sells-manhattan-office-asset-for-333m\/\">that sold for $333 million<\/a>.
