Quincy Data Center<\/p><\/div>\n

H5 Data Centers has expanded its footprint with the acquisition of a purpose-built data center in Quincy, Wash. The 240,000-square-foot facility is the 12th<\/sup> that the company will operate in the U.S. H5 acquired the data center from Intuit Inc. <\/p>\n

The Quincy facility is situated on a 63-acre lot and is equipped for high-density deployments of up to 500 Watts per square foot. The site has access to 100 percent renewable power provided by Grant County Public Utility District, via a hydroelectric plant. The Tier III design enables a 2N Uninterruptible Power Supply distribution and an N+1 cooling tower and chiller plant. Since its construction, the building maintains a track record of 100 percent uptime. H5 plans to expand the data center<\/a> and bring it up to a maximum of 40 megawatts of critical IT power upon full build-out.<\/p>\n

H5 Data Centers\u2019 latest acquisition benefits from the state of Washington\u2019s low power cost, at around $0.03 per kWh. Additionally, the facility qualifies for the state\u2019s sales and use tax abatement for power infrastructure and server equipment. According to DatacenterDynamics, <\/em>to qualify, a data center must cover at least 100,000 square feet and employ at least 35 people with a salary at 150 percent of the locality\u2019s per capita income. Both operators and tenants of the data center can benefit from tax abatement.<\/p>\n
