She will succeed Laurel Krzeminski, who is set to retire, and will report to current President &amp; Chief Executive Officer James Roberts.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cOn behalf of the board of directors and the executive team, we are extremely pleased to have someone with Jigisha\u2019s background and expertise take on this leadership role,\u201d<\/em> said Roberts, in a prepared statement. <em>\u201cAs a champion of Granite\u2019s core values and code of conduct, she is well-respected by her team, her peers and our partners. I look forward to working with Jigisha to further execute Granite\u2019s strategic plan as we continue to strengthen, diversify and grow our business.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>With more than 25 years of experience at Granite, Desai has been a vital member to building the team&#8217;s long-term relationships with lenders, insurance markets, sureties and financial advisors. She most recently served as vice president of corporate finance &amp; treasurer, where she was responsible for leading all corporate finance and treasury functions. These included capital allocation, treasury operations, enterprise risk management, capital structure, debt and investment management and corporate development, focusing on the firm&#8217;s strategic plan through mergers and acquisitions.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Desai received a B.S. in accounting from the University of Houston and an M.B.A. in corporate finance from Golden Gate University. In 2016, she completed the Harvard Business School\u2019s Advanced Management Program.
