The announcement was made by Transwestern, which will handle leasing for the developers.<\/p>\n<p>The project, located at 2202 Hunter Road, is scheduled for completion in the fourth quarter. No dollar amount was disclosed.<\/p>\n<p>Hunter Medical Plaza is 38 percent preleased to MedFirst Primary Care, part of the BHS Physicians Network, leaving 16,000 square feet available for lease, with flexible floor plans, shell or build-out options, and signage opportunities.<\/p>\n<p>Transwestern described the location, at Hunter Road and Stagecoach Trail, as being in \u201c<em>a booming trade area<\/em>\u201d with numerous retail amenities. Within the past decade, San Marcos has been designated twice by the U.S. Census Bureau as the nation\u2019s fastest-growing city, listed by the <em>Business Week<\/em> as one of the \u201cBest Places to Raise your Kids\u201d and named by the <em>Business Insider<\/em> as one of the \u201c10 Most Exciting Small Cities in America.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Transwestern Senior VP Ken Adams and Senior Associate \u2019Licia Shreves are the leasing representatives.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Other companies involved in the development include LK Design Group, CEC Civil Engineering and the Deitch Law Firm, Benjamin Kogut, founder of Kogut Commercial Real Estate, said in a prepared statement.<\/p>\n<h2>Diverse developments<\/h2>\n<p>San Marcos is about 30 miles from Austin and 50 miles from San Antonio and is home to the 38,000-student Texas State University. Over the past couple of years, development projects in the city of about 62,000 residents have been diverse. In November 2016, after amassing $1 million through crowdfunding, and no doubt anticipating ample demand for cold beer, Hops &amp; Grain Brewing, of Austin, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.commercialsearch.com\/news\/hops-grain-to-open-second-location-in-san-marcos\/\">leased nearly 11,000 square feet<\/a> for a second production facility and tasting room. In September 2016, municipal\/civil engineering firm HDR opened a new regional office in leased space in San Marcos, to serve the city, as well as other communities in Hays County.
