T5 Data Centers has acquired a 40-acre land parcel in Douglas County, Ga., where it will build its second hyperscale facility in the Atlanta metro. The purpose-built T5@Atlanta II will complement the existing Tier III data center in Alpharetta, Ga., constructed in 2011.<\/p>\n

T5@Atlanta II will feature an initial 10 megawatts of critical power load upon completion, a fault tolerant design and a building frame able to resist winds of up to 185 miles per hour. Of its total 130,000-square-foot surface, 66,667 square feet will be white floor space. The new campus is aimed for enterprise clients and has the possibility to expand IT capacity to more than 20 megawatts, delivered via two substations.<\/p>\n

Checking all the boxes<\/h2>\n

As with its first facility in the metro, T5\u2019s newest development<\/a> will be a Tier III facility, designed to meet industry compliance standards such as SOC2, PCI and HIPAA, among other auditing procedures. Additionally, the company will seek LEED Silver certification for the new facility, designed to operate at 1.32 PUE (power usage effectiveness).<\/p>\n

Tenants of the new facility will have access to multiple network and cloud providers, as Atlanta is one of the most connected metros in the U.S., and CBRE\u2019s 2018 Data Centers Outlook<\/em> marks it as a moderate-to-high market in terms of growth.<\/p>\n

\u201cAtlanta has proven itself to be a growing market for enterprise-class data center users. These discerning companies continue to be attracted to Atlanta by the inexpensive and reliable power, easy access, a talented workforce and competitive tax incentives,<\/em>\u201d said Pete Marin, CEO of T5 Data Centers, in a prepared statement.<\/p>\n
