Martin Rinck, Global Luxury & Lifestyle Head, Hilton<\/p><\/div>\n

Hilton has tapped into its existing pool of executives to fill the position of global head, Luxury & Lifestyle Group. Industry veteran Martin Rinck, who has been with the hospitality company since 2008, will take on the role.<\/p>\n

In his new job leading the Luxury & Lifestyle Group, Rinck will be tasked with spearheading strategic development, brand innovation and leadership initiatives for Hilton\u2019s luxury hotel portfolio. He comes to the table well prepared. \u201cMartin\u2019s deep understanding of two strategically important areas\u2014global luxury brands and the Asia Pacific region<\/em>\u2014make him an ideal choice to continue our momentum,\u201d<\/em> Jon Witter, chief customer officer <\/a>with Hilton, said in a prepared statement.<\/p>\n

Rinck previously served as executive vice president & area president, Asia Pacific, working from Hilton\u2019s Singapore office. His fingerprints are on the Hilton brands\u2019 emergence as a top-rated portfolio in the region, and he was aboard for the company\u2019s introduction of a host of leading luxury flags to the area, including the opening of the Waldorf Astoria Shanghai on the Bund in China, the first Waldorf property in Asia, and the debut of the Conrad brand in India with the opening of Conrad Pune<\/a>. Overall, he oversaw a six-fold increase in Hilton brands in the area during his tenure.<\/p>\n

Ongoing growth spurt<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Hilton\u2019s growth strategy means Rinck will have a full plate in his new position at the top of the Luxury & Lifestyle Group. \u201cThe answer to the question on do we have an urgency on increasing our presence in luxury and resorts: of course, we do,\u201d <\/em>Christopher Nassetta, president & CEO of Hilton, said during the company\u2019s first quarter 2018 earnings call on April 26. \u201cWe have had that urgency for the better part of the last decade and I think we\u2019re making tremendous progress both in luxury and in our resort portfolio. But that\u2019s an effort that will continue for many, many years to come.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
