Stella marks the company\u2019s 23<sup>rd<\/sup> wind farm in North America.<\/p>\n<p>The wind facility is located in the ERCOT (Electric Reliability Council of Texas) south market and is powered by 67 3.0-megawatt turbines supplied by Nordex Group. Stella Windfarm is set to generate sufficient electricity to power more than 60,000 homes and is expected to begin commercial operation by the end of 2018.<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;This project was a direct result of the federal policies to encourage growth in the renewable sector and confirms the continued attractiveness of the U.S. wind market. When completed, Stella will add to our coastal wind portfolio with now more than\u00a0one gigawatt in operation,&#8221; <\/em>Silvia Ortin, North America CEO of E.ON, said in a prepared statement.<\/p>\n<p>E.ON\u2019s portfolio of renewable energy facilities encompasses more than 3,600 megawatts generated by wind, solar and storage projects.
