When completed, the facility will be the second-largest distribution center in the area.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cOpening the new\u00a0Savannah\u00a0distribution center marks another milestone in the growth of Floor and Decor,\u201d\u00a0<\/em>Tom Taylor, Floor &amp; D\u00e9cor\u2019s CEO, said at the groundbreaking\u00a0of the site.<em> \u201cDue to the diligent efforts of our world-class distribution team and our great partnerships with the Savannah Economic Development Authority, the Georgia Ports Authority, Duke Realty and others, we are proud to make\u00a0Savannah\u00a0one of our long-term distribution homes.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Situated on 90 acres within the Morgan Business Center, a 250-acre industrial park, the complex will be close by the intersection of interstates 16 and 95 and\u00a0will offer convenient truck and rail access to the busy Port of\u00a0Savannah. The project is expected to bring roughly 90 jobs to the area. Combined with the 47 positions at Floor &amp; D\u00e9cor\u2019s 68,000-square-foot\u00a0Savannah\u00a0retail store and design center, this will bring its total employment in the area to 132.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cThe Savannah area\u2019s many assets, such as our workforce, the Port of\u00a0Savannah\u00a0and our vast infrastructure, are among the keys to making this distribution center a lasting success,\u201d <\/em>said\u00a0Kevin Jackson, Savannah Economic Development Authority\u2019s chairman of the Board of Directors.<\/p>\n<p>CBRE worked with the retailer on the project.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Large Presence in Savannah<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Duke Realty\u2019s portfolio consists of 7.9 million square feet of space in 24 buildings, making it the largest industrial\/warehouse owner in\u00a0Savannah.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Last summer, Duke Realty promoted Steven Schnur to senior regional executive vice president. He is responsible for overseeing the company\u2019s U.S. East and West regions, while leading and managing its Midwest region.<\/p>\n<p>In December, the company acquired the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.commercialsearch.com\/news\/duke-realty-snags-houston-industrial-project\/\">Bayport Distribution Center II<\/a>, a two-building industrial warehouse project in Houston\u2019s suburb of Pasadena.\u00a0In October,\u00a0Duke Realty Corp. acquired a portfolio of two soon-to-be-developed land parcels and 10\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.commercialsearch.com\/news\/bridge-development-to-sell-700m-industrial-portfolio-to-duke\/\">industrial\u00a0properties in Southern California<\/a>, Northern New Jersey and South Florida, from Bridge Development for $700 million.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Floor &amp; Decor continues its expansion with a Savannah distribution center.
