Florida East Coast Industries has completed construction on 3 MiamiCentral, its first mixed-use tower at MiamiCentral, a transit-oriented development spanning across six city blocks in downtown Miami. Brightline is one of the first tenants to relocate to the development, while infrastructure solutions firm HNTB also agreed to move to the 96,000-square-foot property.<\/p>\n

The new space serves as Brightline\u2019s headquarters, with the country\u2019s first private rail service<\/a> occupying 24,000 square feet at the 12-story building. HNTB\u00a0 also leased approximately 18,000 square feet at 3 MiamiCentral. AECOM integrated a series of Robert McKnight art installations within the design of the building. The artwork features a collage of images and pays homage to the Historic Overtown community.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Located at 161 NW Sixth\u00a0St., the recently completed property encompasses Class A office and ground-floor retail space as well as a seven-story parking garage.\u00a0The developer delivered the tower in December 2017 and retained Blanca Commercial Real Estate to spearhead leasing efforts.<\/p>\n

Accommodating major tenants\u00a0<\/h2>\n

Cisneros, Ernst & Young, Moss & Associates, Spaces, and Florida East Coast Industries are among other notable tenants that have joined MiamiCentral.\u00a0Einstein Bros. Bagels and a major grocer are also set to occupy available commercial space.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cDowntown Miami continues to transform into a vibrant community and the addition of this new urban development and passenger rail system will be critical as the city continues to develop,\u201d<\/em> said Patrick Goddard, Brightline\u2019s president & COO, in prepared remarks.<\/p>\n

MiamiCentral serves as the southern terminus for Brightline. The rail service\u00a0began commuting passengers between West Palm Beach and Fort Lauderdale on January 13. The system will extend to Miami in the coming months and will ultimately connect to Orlando International Airport. In addition, MiamiCentral will provide\u00a0access to all forms of transit in Miami-Dade County including Metromover, Metrorail and soon, Tri-Rail.<\/p>\n
