Beyond Meat has unveiled plans to expand its headquarters in El Segundo, Calif. The research and development center will be a newly constructed facility totaling 26,000 square feet, and is anticipated to increase the company\u2019s space by more than seven times. The facility, called the Manhattan Beach Project Innovation Center, will support the firm\u2019s mission to create meat using only plant material.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Located next to the company\u2019s existing headquarters at 1325 E. El Segundo Blvd., the site sits approximately one mile south of Los Angeles International Airport and is two blocks west of North Sepulveda Boulevard. The surrounding area contains a multitude of small industrial buildings, with the U.S. Department of Agriculture operating a building in the immediate area.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cThe expansion of the Manhattan Beach Project here in Los Angeles reflects our belief that building meat from plants is an opportunity of global importance, one that is deserving of investment levels consistent with what you\u2019d find in alternative energy or health sciences, sectors with which we certainly share common goals,\u201d<\/em> said Ethan Brown, CEO & founder of Beyond Meat, in prepared remarks.<\/p>\n
