Ltd. has been selected by Elite Global Group Ltd. to provide comprehensive, integrated program management services, which includes the $1.85 billion, 250-acre Nickelodeon-themed project in the southeastern city of Foshan.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cThis is the first, large-scale agreement for AECOM to deliver its proprietary life-cycle of integrated program management services for a consequential theme park project in Asia and is a breakthrough moment for our program management consultancy business in the People\u2019s Republic of China,\u201d<\/em> Chris Yoshii, AECOM\u2019s vice president, Asia Pacific, said in a prepared release.<\/p>\n<p>Expected to open sometime in 2020 or 2021, the Nickelodeon-themed project is part of a greater 750-acre Foshan Cultural and Ecological Coastal Park, a master-planned environment encompassing cultural, tourism, sports and science and technology components.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cWe are extremely excited that the delivery of our first Nickelodeon theme park will be managed by a world leading company with the global experience and successful track record that AECOM brings,\u201d <\/em>Michael Chang, Elite Global Group\u2019s director of its board of directors, said.<em> \u201cMillions of Chinese consumers enthusiastically await the opening of the project, which we believe will introduce innovations and advance China\u2019s theme park industry.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Strong region<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Foshan is home to more than 7 million residents and is part of the affluent, greater Pearl River Delta mega metropolitan region. That area comprises more than 22 million people, with large cities such as Shenzhen and Guangzhou included.
