3401 Old Airport Road, Wooster, Ohio<\/p><\/div>\n

Schaeffler invested $60 million in its Wooster, Ohio campus, which now\u00a0encompasses\u00a0800,000 square feet. The\u00a0upgrade was necessary in order to streamline operations and host future production of mobility solutions. Beginning in 2018, Schaeffler will produce the hybrid module at the Wooster facility for a major U.S. automotive manufacturer.<\/p>\n

Since the company stepped foot into Ohio, the campus, located at 3401 Old Airport Road, grew from 27,000 square feet to its current size, having gone through 20 expansion cycles. The latest investment comes to commemorate the 40th anniversary of Schaeffler in Wooster and adds to another $36.5 million expansion work completed at the company\u2019s Fort Mills, S.C. facility.<\/p>\n

“Our investment in Wooster, Ohio is another milestone in implementing our strategy Mobility for tomorrow. Wooster will become our U.S. center for advanced E-Mobility development and will continue shaping mobility through innovation and employee development. This new, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility is a testament to our commitment to attract and retain the best and brightest talent,<\/em>” said Klaus Rosenfeld, the CEO of Schaeffler Group.<\/p>\n

The project’s general contractor was R.G. Smith Co.<\/p>\n

Most recently, Amazon announced plans of a new Ohio fulfillment center<\/a>, which will add a total of 1,000 jobs when completed.<\/p>\n
