Jim Berry, Deloitte LLP<\/p><\/div>\n

Deloitte has selected Jim Berry as its newest vice chairman\u00a0& leader of its U.S. real estate and construction sector practice. His activity will focus on leading the firm\u2019s strategic direction and overseeing its 1,600 U.S.-based client-focused professionals. Berry\u2018s office will be based in Dallas and he will replace Vice Chairman Robert O\u2019Brien<\/a>, who retains his position as global real estate and construction sector leader.<\/p>\n

“Our team is investing heavily in all elements of our practice, focusing on those involving the technologies and innovations supporting our regulatory services. This includes the development of cutting-edge blockchain, robotic and cognitive learning applications to position our team and clients for success in today’s and tomorrow’s market,”<\/em> Berry said in a prepared statement.<\/p>\n

Industry veteran<\/h2>\n

The recently appointed executive has 32 years of experience within the real estate, construction and hospitality industries, having previously served as U.S. leader for Deloitte\u2019s audit and assurance services sector. His responsibilities included advising public and private companies on audit, mergers and acquisitions and divestitures. Berry\u2019s other client service and practice leadership roles within the company included audit practice leader for the\u00a0North Texas\u00a0offices.<\/p>\n

Berry has a B.A. in business administration from\u00a0Stephen F. Austin State University. Additionally, he is a certified public accountant and member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants. He is also part of the 2,000-member North Texas Real Estate Council and the Community Impact Committee of the United Way of Metropolitan Dallas.<\/p>\n
