A two-acre site at Biltmore Station in Asheville, N.C., will be used for the development of a Home2 Suites by Hilton hotel. Aston Properties sold the land and Baywood Hotel plans to build a four-story, 120-key hotel. The building will complement the mixed-use center<\/a>\u2019s repositioned retail and office space.<\/p>\n

Located on Hendersonville Road in historic Biltmore Village and across from Biltmore Estate off of Biltmore Avenue, the future hotel is expected to open during the first quarter of 2019. \u201cThe addition of a new hotel will further enhance Biltmore Station as a walkable, pedestrian-friendly center where residents, employees and guests can work, shop, dine and stay,\u201d <\/em>said Aston Properties Director of Acquisitions and Dispositions Jamie Kneisel, in prepared remarks.<\/p>\n

Recently revamped center<\/h2>\n

The 101,000-square-foot Biltmore Station was less than 50 percent occupied at the time of the acquisition, in early 2015. Since then, Aston Properties oversaw\u00a0a $1.5 million upgrade at the property, including new building facades, new landscaping and lighting and the addition of 100 new parking spaces.<\/p>\n

Working with Dewey Property Advisors, Aston Properties signed several new tenants including The Biltmore Co. (13,000 square feet) and Image Dental Arts (11,345 square feet). Other tenants include the Pour Taproom (3,695 square feet), which opened in January, and Italian wine bar Virgola (1,470 square feet), which opened last month. With the execution of a pending lease, Biltmore Station\u2019s occupancy will approach 90 percent.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n

Baywood Hotels plans to start construction of the hotel during the fourth quarter of this year.<\/p>\n
