Mt. Taylor Manufacturing Sawmill<\/p><\/div>\n

Mt. Taylor Manufacturing, an industrial company also known as Wood You Recycle!, will invest more than\u00a0$1 million to expand their operations in the South Valley, according to the New Mexico Economic Development Department. The expansion is expected to create five new manufacturing jobs and preserve\u00a043 existing ones in Milan, N.M.<\/p>\n

Mt. Taylor focuses its efforts toward manufacturing lumber, home-heating wood pellets, chips for playgrounds, and mulch for gardens and landscapes. With this expansion, the company will increase its production volume, and will begin producing food smoking pellets as well. Mt. Taylor Manufacturing serves customers in Rio Rancho and Albuquerque, local public schools, warehouse clubs<\/a> and big box retailers in the southwest.<\/p>\n

State support<\/h2>\n

The expansion will receive support from the Economic Development Department, which will contribute with $100,000 in LEDA funds. LEDA is New Mexico\u2019s closing fund, a tool that recruits new businesses to the state and offers help to existing businesses in need. Governor Susana Martinez\u00a0expanded the closing fund to $56 million since taking\u00a0office.<\/p>\n

Taylor Manufacturing grow and thrive – creating more jobs for New Mexicans,”<\/em> Governor Susana Martinez said in a prepared statement. “We’ve seen over and over again that when we enact business-friendly policies and expand our economic development tools, our local companies and companies from around the world find success here in New Mexico.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

“New Mexico’s private sector economy is growing and diversifying through the expansion of companies like Mt. Taylor,”<\/em> added Economic Development Secretary Matt Geisel. “The Governor’s commitment to making New Mexico more competitive continues to deliver results, helping our homegrown businesses grow and thrive.”<\/em><\/p>\n
