The property is located at 87-46 123<sup>rd<\/sup> St., in the borough\u2019s Richmond Hill neighborhood. It will serve as the organization\u2019s headquarters and manufacturing facility, contract sewing department, inbound call center and a warehouse, housing more than 200 employees. The non-profit will relocate from 3611 14<sup>th<\/sup> Ave., in Brooklyn\u2019s Borough Park, where it occupies 100,000 square feet of office, factory and warehouse space. The move is expected to take place in stages, and be completed in September 2018.<\/p>\n<p>The seller was long-term owner Comprehensive Archives, which purchased the building in 1994. The asset used to serve as its records storage facility.<\/p>\n<h2>Multi-use\u00a0model<\/h2>\n<p>The new owner plans to renovate the building so it would meet its navigation, information gathering and accessibility needs. Additionally, the asset will feature a modern design and a sensory garden for both employees and guests. Other amenities include a 5,000-square-foot parking area\u00a0and 20-foot ceiling heights.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>Our goal has always been to find a sustainable, permanent home in New York so we would not have to spend our funds on ever-increasing rent,<\/em>\u201d Alphapointe CEO Reinhard Mabry said in prepared remarks. \u201c<em>But we had to wait until we could find a space that is accessible and a good place to work for our employees while also allowing us to grow. This new location will allow us to create a thriving, contemporary workplace that will benefit people who are blind and visually impaired long into the future.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The property is situated near retailers, eateries and health clubs.
