The company has unveiled the locations of 20 supermarkets opening this summer in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia. Plans call for a total of 100 stores in operation across the East Coast by the summer of 2018, which will create 5,000 jobs.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Shoppers of the new Lidl stores can expect 20,000-square-foot newly constructed facilities that will offer six aisles, with freshly baked goods, sustainable food options, including organic and gluten free, as well as an exclusive Lidl brand with weekly promotions on non-food products. Store hours will be 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Sunday.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;We are excited to open our first stores in <span class=\"xn-location\">the United States<\/span> in a few short weeks,&#8221; <\/em>said <span class=\"xn-person\">Brendan Proctor<\/span>, president &amp; CEO of Lidl US, in prepared remarks.<em> &#8220;Lidl is grocery shopping refreshed, retooled and rethought to make life better for all our customers. From our selection of sustainable products like our certified fresh and frozen seafood to top-quality wines from around the world available at market-beating prices, our team puts extra effort and attention into each product we put on our shelves.\u00a0 When customers shop at Lidl, they will experience less complexity, lower prices, better choices and greater confidence.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Lidl currently operates 10,000 stores in 27 countries throughout <span class=\"xn-location\">Europe<\/span>. The company\u00a0first established its U.S. headquarters in <span class=\"xn-location\">Arlington County, Virginia<\/span> in <span class=\"xn-chron\">June 2015<\/span>.
