Scott Brinker, HCP<\/p><\/div>\n

HCP Inc. has appointed Scott Brinker to the role of executive vice president and chief investment officer, effective Jan. 4, 2018. Brinker will report to the company\u2019s CEO, Tom Herzog, who took over<\/a> as CEO\u00a0in January 2017.<\/p>\n

Brinker joins the firm from senior housing REIT Welltower Inc., where he held a CIO role from July 2014 to January 2017, and an executive vice president of investments role from January 2012 to July 2014. Prior to that, Brinker served in various investment and portfolio management-related capacities with the same company starting July 2001.<\/p>\n

“Scott will be a tremendous addition as we continue to successfully execute our strategic initiatives and grow our company,”<\/em> said Herzog in prepared remarks.\u00a0 “He has an outstanding track record of building and asset managing large-scale portfolios through a disciplined investment process and we are excited to welcome him to our company.”<\/em><\/p>\n

Brinker holds a B.A.\u00a0from Yale University and an executive MBA from the University of Michigan.<\/p>\n

The appointment comes at a time of major leadership changes at HCP. President Justin Hutchens announced<\/a> last month that he’d be leaving the firm to take on the CEO role at HC-One, a leading home care provider in the U.K.<\/p>\n
