Headquarters recently opened in Houston, bringing 35,000 square feet of creative and collaborative office space to the city\u2019s East End neighborhood. Co-founders of TPC Real Estate, brother-and-sister duo Peter and Devin Licata, have been working on the project since 2014, along with their father, Mark Licata.<\/p>\n

Once a derelict warehouse at 3302 Canal St., the developers\u2019 vision transformed the building into a shared workspace<\/a>. Headquarters includes six distinct environments: Boiler Room, The Cloud, Bull Pen, Wheelhouse and War Room, referring to stereotypes of corporate America, with the restroom facilities described as \u201cmission control.”<\/p>\n

The new office space features flexible suite sizes that can accommodate anywhere from one to 18 employees, starting\u00a0at $750 per month. Amenities include fiber-optic internet, reception services, 24\/7 access and private parking. Tenants enjoy unlimited access to a community kitchen, five glass-walled conference rooms with flat screen TVs, a game room with beer on tap and a 3,000-square-foot interior courtyard.<\/p>\n

“Headquarters is unlike anything else that currently exists in the Houston market. While co-working and creative workspace does exist here, most of it is specifically geared towards artists, or executed at a very small scale that may work for freelancers but not for small to medium-size businesses looking for a bigger presence while maintaining autonomy with their own office suites,”<\/em> Peter Licata said, in a prepared statement.<\/p>\n

There is an option for those looking for less space and more flexibility, dubbed Launch at Headquarters. A dedicated-desk, co-working area, this space features a lounge and direct access to a private patio and allows a sign-up for month-to-month subscriptions beginning at $450 per month.<\/p>\n

NextSeed, a Houston-based investment crowdfunding platform, was one of the first tenants to move in. Headquarters\u2019 tenant roster also includes Digital Crafts and 900lbs of Creative, while Giant Leap Coffee, a full-service coffee shop and caf\u00e9, is set to open in the fall.<\/p>\n

\u201cAn area that was once a manufacturing center and then deserted by industry is now being reborn as a place where a new kind of economy\u2013rooted in collaboration, technology, design and the maker movement\u2013thrives,<\/em>” said Devin Licata, in prepared remarks.<\/p>\n
