Noting that commercial real estate is a global business, several leaders of the Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) Network said the launch of CREW UK this month is expected to be the first of several affiliate groups around the world.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe definitely plan to grow CREW Network in other international locations. We\u2019ve had interest from Brisbane, Australia, and Jakarta, Indonesia, and we are also considering other European locations at this time. First and foremost, we are focused on supporting our new CREW UK affiliate group to get established,\u201d<\/em> Wendy Mann, CEO CREW Network, told Commercial Property Executive.<\/em><\/p>\n

CREW UK, an affiliate of CREW Network, has been established to advance the achievements of women in commercial real estate in the UK and will hold a launch and recruitment event April 25 at Deutsche Bank\u2019s London office. The event will start at 6 p.m. and include a reception, keynote speakers Harriet Minter, Natalie Campbell and Emma Sexton and networking opportunities.<\/p>\n

Julia Nott-Macaire, executive director, Procurement Principles Ltd. and a CREW UK Leadership Committee member, and CREW Network President Alison Beddard, senior director \u2013 Office & Investment, Cushman & Wakefield Commerce, will welcome attendees. Beddard will also be part of a panel discussion led by Minter, a journalist and women\u2019s advocate, along with panelists Nigel Shilton of Deloitte and Kathryn Harrison, Deutsche Bank.<\/p>\n

Nott-Macaire said they expect more than 150 people to attend the event.<\/p>\n

\u201cMany of these people have already voiced an interest in becoming members of the CREW Network,\u201d<\/em> she said, adding CREW UK will bring together leaders from over 35 different disciplines within the commercial real estate industry.<\/p>\n

CREW Network members comprise more than 10,000 professionals worldwide and represent nearly all aspects of commercial real estate. Based in the United States, it has 75 affiliate organizations, including CREW UK.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen working in my capacity as a global procurement professional, not only have I personally had the need to reach out to my CREW colleagues in North America for their supplier recommendations, but I have also linked up other UK-based professionals with CREW contacts for their own international projects. Having an instant directory of over 10,000 industry professionals and the companies they work for, is an incredible resource for anyone who needs to find good companies to partner with,\u201d<\/em> Nott-Macaire told CPE.<\/em><\/p>\n

Beddard said CREW Network and its board has been planning for global expansion for the past several years.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe vision became reality in 2016 with the intersection of interest from Julia Nott-Macaire and others in the United Kingdom to joint CREW Network and expand our reach, and Cushman & Wakefield committing to a significant program sponsorship to launch our global agenda,\u201d <\/em>she told CPE.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cThe commercial real estate industry is global \u2013 our members recognize the importance of networking inside and outside of their local markets to do business, exchange resources and grow as professionals,\u201d<\/em> Beddard added. \u201cBusiness networking and member-to-member business are cornerstones of CREW Network\u2019s mission.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
