Parkwood\u2019s acquisition of just under 10 percent of the firm will all be in primary capital. An employee option plan has also been established to retain and reward employees. Keefe, Bruyette &amp; Woods and Jones Day advised Riverside on the deal.<\/p>\n<p>According to\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.crainscleveland.com\/article\/20170410\/NEWS\/170419980\/clevelands-parkwood-llc-buys-minority-stake-in-private-equity-firm#utm_medium=email&amp;utm_source=ccl-dailynews&amp;utm_campaign=ccl-dailynews-20170410&amp;email_realestate\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Crain&#8217;s Cleveland Business<\/a><\/em>, the cash investment at the management level will be used exclusively to grow existing initiatives, including controlling equity funds, minority investment funds and some credit-related funds.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cThis investment is a natural element of Riverside\u2019s three decades of growth and its position as a leader at the smaller end of the middle market,\u201d<\/em> said Riverside Co-CEO B\u00e9la Szigethy.<\/p>\n<p>Founded in 1988, the Riverside Co. currently has more than 80 companies in its international portfolio.
