A joint venture between Westroc Hospitality and Woodbine Development Corp. has developed Mountain Shadows, a $100 million boutique resort in Paradise Valley, Ariz., looking out onto Camelback Mountain.<\/p>\n

Those in the area may remember the original resort of this name, which was branded as a landmark property in the \u201960s and \u201970s. The original Mountain Shadows opened in 1959, but the new resort was built from the ground up<\/p>\n

The new Mountain Shadows features 183 guestrooms,\u00a042 condominiums and suites, a presidential suite facing Camelback Mountain, a full-service restaurant, two pools, a high-tech fitness facility, an 18-hole par-3 golf course and grill, and approximately 37,500 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s been a great pleasure to work at the Westroc collection of independent hotels and resorts, and I am delighted to lead the team at the new Mountain Shadows,<\/em>\u201d Andrew Chippindall, Mountain Shadows\u2019 general manager & vice president, said in a statement this past summer. \u201cThe unparalleled views of Camelback Mountain and the unique desert modern design will truly set the resort apart.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n

Design elements include floor-to-ceiling glass, butterfly roofs, furnishings inspired by mid-century modernism, and an abundance of outdoor spaces that highlight the resort\u2019s stunning views.<\/p>\n

This is the third Westroc resort property, joining Hotel Valley Ho\u00a0in the heart of Scottsdale and Sanctuary Camelback Mountain Resort and Spa, also in Paradise Valley. Mountain Shadows is the first new resort to open in Paradise Valley since 2009.<\/p>\n

The town of Paradise Valley dates back approximately 50 years, and the town maintains the same mission it had when first incorporated\u2014to offer a residential community in a quiet and country-like setting with little government intervention.<\/p>\n

Located at 5445 E. Lincoln Dr., Mountain Shadows is just 10 minutes from downtown Scottsdale.<\/p>\n

Among the resort amenities are Hearth \u201961, a restaurant with executive chef Charles Wiley at the helm; The Short Course, 18 holes of par-3 golf, designed by noted golf course architect\u00a0Forrest Richardson; and Rusty\u2019s, a lounge honoring real estate legend Rusty Lyon.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
