Tampa, Fla.<\/strong>\u2014Cousins Properties recently announced that Amgen, a leading biotechnology company, has signed a 10-year, 125,000-square-foot lease at Corporate Center, a 1.2 million-square-foot, Class A office asset\u00a0located in Tampa’s Westshore submarket.<\/p>\n

“Amgen is a cutting-edge global company at the forefront of biopharmaceutical technology and innovation. We look forward to a strong relationship with Amgen for many years to come,” Larry Gellerstedt, president &\u00a0CEO of Cousins Properties, said in prepared remarks.<\/p>\n

The new space will be home to a new Amgen Capability Center, staffed with approximately 450 employees, responsible for the delivery of business-enabling services including operational, analytical, staff support and business support activities. Amgen plans to open its new Tampa location in late 2017.<\/p>\n

Corporate Center encompasses two mid-rise and two high-rise buildings, including Corporate Center I, II, III and IV. All four are owned and managed by Cousins Properties, according to Yardi Matrix. At the time of release, it was undisclosed in which of the properties Amgen signed the lease.<\/p>\n

Cousins Properties\u00a0has signed approximately 202,000 square feet of new and renewal leases in Tampa during the first quarter of 2017.<\/p>\n
