The development will include a 173-key hotel, 300 residential units, retail and restaurants.<\/p>\n<p>The project, owned and developed by Insight Realty Co. and its partner China New Era Group Corp., will be situated in the heart of downtown San Jose, one block from the Convention Center and in close proximity to the\u00a0SAP Center and major companies such as Adobe, Cisco Systems, IBM and PayPal.<\/p>\n<p>The development will also include 250,000 square feet of Class A office space and will expand the Tech Museum of Innovation by 54,000 square feet. The new Kimpton hotel, designed by international design firm Steinberg, will include a fitness center, an outdoor pool, a sixth-floor bar, a fast-casual caf\u00e9 and approximately 8,000 square feet of meeting space.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Not only is San Jose the epicenter of the technology industry, it&#8217;s also a world class city and the ideal place for a Kimpton hotel and restaurant,&#8221; Mike DeFrino, Kimpton Hotels &amp; Restaurants&#8217; CEO, said in a statement. &#8220;With professional sports, a state-of-the-art entertainment and a burgeoning downtown, the Museum Place project is the perfect venue for us to introduce our brand of heartfelt hospitality to the Silicon Valley.
