Chicago<\/strong>\u2014DLA Piper relocated its office in Windy City to River Point, a 52-story tower at 444 W. Lake St., along the Chicago River. The global law firm leased roughly 175,000 square feet at the new 1 million-square-foot office building, located in the West Loop neighborhood, with options to expand.<\/p>\n

DLA Piper was represented by JLL and Cushman & Wakefield in the deal with Hines Interest, which, according to Yardi Matrix, owns and manages the building. Co-owner Ivanhoe Cambridge and Larry Levy were also involved in the transaction.<\/p>\n

The multinational company occupies the ninth through 16th floors in the green tower, which meets LEED Gold standards and offers state-of-the-art technology, perimeter layouts and universal offices. DLA Piper\u2019s new workplace features wall coverings that depict grid plans from sections of cities in which the firm operates, in the U.S. and other countries.<\/p>\n

River Point was designed by international architecture studio Pickard Chilton and provides first-class amenities for its tenants, which also have access to the 1.5-acre public park adjacent to the building. The property also features covered parking spaces, a fitness center and four floors of retail space, according to Yardi Matrix.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re excited to be in the heart of one of Chicago\u2019s most vibrant areas and to have a facility that is so well-suited for the needs of a modern law firm,\u201d David Mendelsohn, managing partner of DLA Piper in Chicago, said in a prepared statement. \u201cOur new layout accommodates the needs of a diverse, multi-generational workforce while allowing us to improve efficiency and client service.\u201d<\/p>\n

Previously, the law firm\u2019s Chicago offices were located at 203 N. LaSalle Drive.<\/p>\n
