Hi-Lo Hotel, Portland<\/p><\/div>\n

Portland<\/strong>\u2014The Hi-Lo Hotel<\/a> will open by the end of the year in Portland, the Autograph Collection recently announced. The property will debut in downtown’s historic Oregon Pioneer Building.<\/p>\n

Located at 320 SW Stark St., the 120-key boutique hotel<\/a> will include five executives corner king rooms and five one-bedroom suites. All rooms are outfitted with modern organic furnishings and local hand-crafted bathroom amenities by Maak Lab featuring a custom scent designed exclusively for Hi-Lo. Amenities will include free Wi-Fi, daily newspaper delivery and a 24-hour fitness center.<\/p>\n

Hi-Lo\u2019s restaurant, Alto Bajo, will serve modern Mexican food in an upscale setting. Led by Michelin-starred Chef Chip Barnes in collaboration with Chef Iliana de la Vega, the restaurant will offer a balance of classic Mexican cuisine with accents of contemporary style.<\/p>\n

“My approach to food is heavily influenced by my time in Chicago and Charleston. I focus on quality ingredients, and enjoy highlighting lesser known or overlooked ingredients in order to open people up to the vast range of things that are edible and delicious. I am excited to be in Portland because there is a wide variety of these off-the-wall ingredients to play with,” Barnes said in prepared remarks.<\/p>\n
