In addition, the expanded facilities will generate approximately 200 new jobs.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis significant investment in our Houston facilities will enable us to support more aircraft than ever before in Houston and allow us to return them to serving our customers more quickly,\u201d United Executive Vice President &amp; COO Greg Hart said in a prepared statement.<\/p>\n<p>The primary architect is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fsb-ae.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">Frankfurt Short Bruza Associates<\/a> of Oklahoma City, according to the United spokesperson, who added that the airline has not yet selected a primary contractor.<\/p>\n<p>The UTOC project is a continuation of the improvements United has made in partnership at IAH with the Houston Airport System, including the renovation of Terminal C, completed in 2010; the Terminal B South Concourse, completed in 2013; and the new Terminal C North, which will open early next year.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith the completion of Terminal C North and the move of United\u2019s Houston corporate offices to <a href=\"https:\/\/609mainattexas.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">609 Main<\/a> in 2017, we will have invested more than $500 million in capital improvements in Houston since 2010,\u201d the spokesperson said.<\/p>\n<p>609 Main is a 48-story, 1,050,000-square-foot downtown office tower being developed by Hines.<\/p>\n<p>United is one of Houston\u2019s largest employers, with more than 14,000 employees based there.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The airline broke ground on the $162 million United Technical Operations Center at George Bush Intercontinental Airport.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":882,"featured_media":1004157619,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[21782,21808,1589,21748,21783,21752,21742],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-1004157618","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-development","category-featured","category-houston","category-industrial","category-investment","category-mixed-use","category-latest"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO Premium plugin v23.4 (Yoast SEO v24.6) -
