Brighton, England<\/strong>\u2014StorageMart<\/a> has announced its inaugural entry into the European self-storage industry with the acquisition of 15 self-storage facilities<\/a> in Southeast England. StorageMart acquired the Big Box Storage Centre company and will operate locations in the counties of Kent, Brighton & Hove, East Sussex, West Sussex, Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire and Surrey.<\/p>\n

\u201cBig Box is an important entrance into the United Kingdom for StorageMart. We plan to use the substantial Big Box platform to grow within the U.K. These are great locations in solid markets, and we look forward to applying our technology platform and revenue management strategies at these stores.\u201d Cris Burnam, president of StorageMart, said in prepared remarks.<\/p>\n

The portfolio comprises 15 facilities offering a combined 9,655 storage units and 674,756 square feet of storage space.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur goal is to bring to U.K. storage customers an easy, stress-free customer experience, in the cleanest stores, with world-class customer service,\u201d Burnam added.<\/p>\n

StorageMart is the world\u2019s largest privately owned self-storage company. The brand\u2019s portfolio currently includes more than 110,500 storage units and 12.5 million total square feet of storage space across 189 locations in the United States, Canada and the U.K.<\/p>\n
