Boston<\/strong>\u2014Hilton Hotels & Resorts Worldwide<\/a> recently announced that the 114-key luxury Ames Boston Hotel has officially joined the hospitality powerhouse\u2019s Curio Collection.<\/p>\n

Located at 1 Court St. in the heart of the city, the 15-story Ames Building was completed in 1893 and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1974. Known as Boston\u2019s first skyscraper, the property designed by architectural firm Shepley, Rutan & Coolidge served as an office building<\/a> for more than a century. After being fully restored, it became a luxury boutique hotel in 2007. Following another capital revamping, the upscale Ames Boston Hotel is now joining Hilton\u2019s flag.<\/p>\n

“Ames Boston Hotel is an iconic landmark in one of the world’s most dynamic cities, and perfectly represents Curio’s focus on offering travelers distinctive hotels that are imbued with local character and personality,” said Mark Nogal, global head of Curio, in a prepared statement. “With our first property in Boston, we look forward to providing leisure and business guests the unique experience they seek from Curio when visiting spectacular destinations around the globe,” he added.<\/p>\n

Curio \u2013 A Collection by Hilton was officially announced in 2014<\/a> as a \u201ccarefully selected, global collection of distinctive four-to-five star hotels.\u201d The brand currently operates a portfolio of 30 properties in the Americas, Europe and the Middle East. The collection includes several U.S. architectural landmarks, including the St. Louis Union Station Hotel<\/a>, the Logan Philadelphia<\/a>, the Hotel Roanoke and Conference Center<\/a> in Roanoke, Va., LondonHouse Chicago<\/a>, Atlanta’s Candler Building<\/a> and Hotel Phillips<\/a> in Kansas City.<\/p>\n
