The project has also created roughly 100 construction jobs.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSilvercup Studios is a great New York success story, whose growth and strength parallels everything going on in the Bronx right now,\u201d Governor Cuomo said in a statement. \u201cThis expansion will help create hundreds of good paying jobs, generating millions of dollars to local businesses and further build upon New York\u2019s booming film industry.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Assembly Majority has vigorously supported the New York State Film Tax Credit \u2013 which now stands at $420 million annually \u2013 because when the highly mobile television and film industry takes root in our State, jobs and economic opportunity follow,\u201d added Assemblt Speaker Carl Heastie.<\/p>\n<p>Silvercup has taken an existing warehouse and transformed it into a 115,000-square-foot, full service production facility featuring four production studios with 50-foot-high ceilings and able to accommodate two-story sets. The facility also incorporates on-site production offices, extensive set, prop and wardrobe storage areas, all conveniently situated close to midtown Manhattan.<\/p>\n<p>Silvercup Studios operates three locations in New York\u2014two in Long Island City and the new studio located in the Port Morris section on the Bronx. In total, Silvercup operates more than 500,000 square feet of studio space in New York.
