Dallas<\/strong>\u2014Marriott\u2019s Renaissance Dallas at Plano Legacy West Hotel will add its final roof beam placement this week, in preparation of finishing the hotel development to welcome its first guests mid-summer 2017.<\/p>\n

The 15-story, 304-guestroom luxury hotel broke ground last year<\/a> and will be part of the 250-acre Legacy West master development<\/a> in Plano, Texas.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur feeling was that if you take a look at what\u2019s happening in that neck of the woods, it\u2019s clearly an underserved market for that type of hotel,\u201d Tom Chevins, Marriott\u2019s VP\u00a0of sales, told Commercial Property Executive<\/a><\/em>. \u201cWe thought that the positioning of the Renaissance brand would be perfect to fit into that whole Legacy West area.\u201d<\/p>\n

Located on Legacy Drive near the Dallas North Tollway, the hotel will serve as the south anchor for the $2 billion Legacy West urban mixed-use project<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have always had the big players but if you look at all the organizations coming in there, now you\u2019ve got Liberty Mutual, FedEx and Toyota, and it\u2019s becoming a more and more popular area,\u201d Chevins said. \u201cThe total footage of Legacy West is massive and will include not only retail but restaurants, and options for housing, so it\u2019s a significant development.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Renaissance Dallas at Plano Legacy West Hotel will include more than 26,000 square feet of conference and meeting space, a high-energy lobby and bar, \u201cTexas Tea\u201d gourmet market, on-site Asian-fusion restaurant and a third-floor amenity deck with a swimming pool, bar, concierge lounge, fitness center, and event space.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe hotel embodies wide-open spaces and illustrates the natural movement of the elements across the land,\u201d Michael Strohmer, an architect with HKS Hospitality Group<\/a>, said in a prepared statement. \u201cThis is expressed through a grand and lively lobby space which provides the perfect atmosphere to mix and mingle. In addition, water and fire features and natural materials are used throughout to really anchor the East meets Southwest vibe.\u201d<\/p>\n
