Together, these facilities will generate 24.1 megawatts of electricity, enough to power 15,665 households. The company defines its approach to environmental responsibility through decreased emissions, innovative landfill technologies, use of renewable energy, community engagement and employee growth opportunities.<\/p>\n<p>According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), three megawatts of renewable energy generated by landfill gas-to-energy projects is the equivalent of preventing the carbon emissions emitted by the use of 16.6 million gallons of gasoline.
