The company was founded in 1665 by King Louis XIV of France to manufacture glass for the Hall of Mirrors at the Palace of Versailles in Paris.<\/p>\n<p>The new headquarters, the result of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.commercialsearch.com\/news\/saint-gobain-inks-320-ksf-lease-for-new-north-american-hq-in-malvern-pa\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">an 18-month redevelopment<\/a> of a long-dormant 1960s two-building complex, is now a dynamic showcase for Saint-Gobain and its North American construction materials subsidiary <a href=\"https:\/\/www.certainteed.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">CertainTeed Corp<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>To maximize the comfort and health of employees, Saint-Gobain incorporated a wide range of its own materials into the building. The use of these products aims to improve air quality, moisture management, acoustics, energy efficiency, thermal management and ergonomics, creating a \u201cliving laboratory,\u201d where the company\u2019s research team can measure the benefits that these materials provide to the real workplace.<\/p>\n<p>The facility\u2019s interior design features flexible configurations that encourage collaboration and inspire creativity. The project includes open-concept office spaces, 116 collaborative spaces, gourmet cafeteria along with other food and beverage spaces, a fitness facility, a natural pond, a fountain installation and 1.3 miles of walking trails.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith each new LEED-certified building, we get one step closer to USGBC\u2019s vision of a sustainable built environment within a generation,\u201d stated John Crowe, president &amp; CEO of Saint-Gobain and CertainTeed Corp. \u201cThat vision connects deeply with our values at Saint-Gobain and reinforces the purpose of our new headquarters, which is to honor the past accomplishments of 14 generations of employees, and invigorate today\u2019s employees who uphold Saint-Gobain\u2019s rich heritage of improving the built environment and driving the green building movement.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSaint-Gobain\u2019s LEED Platinum certification demonstrates tremendous green building leadership,\u201d added Rick Fedrizzi, CEO &amp; founding chair, USGBC. \u201cThe urgency of USGBC\u2019s mission has challenged the industry to move faster and reach further than ever before, and Saint-Gobain and CertainTeed serve as a prime example of just how much we can accomplish.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/ekahndevelopment.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">E. Kahn Development Corp<\/a>. and <a href=\"https:\/\/jloew.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">J. Loew &amp; Associates Inc<\/a>., in collaboration with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aegonrealty.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">AEGON USA Realty Advisors LLC<\/a>, led the headquarters\u2019 redesign. Partners in the project included: Bernardon, exterior and lobby architect; Jacobs, interior designer; and D.
